I Will Follow You
Something came to mind this past Monday during a trip to Michigan. While Alex (my fiance) and I were climbing the giant dunes near Lake Michigan (literally about 10 stories high), the Lord showed me something - don’t you love how He can just stop you in your tracks and speak straight to your heart?! The incline of the dune itself was high and difficult-that’s like our lives in this world alone, pushing away all that we can get entangled in. Add on top of that incline the sand-makes it even more difficult. That’s paralleled to sin that can weigh us down and prevent our steps. Man, was it difficult. BUT I realized that going up the one side of the dunes was a set of tracks, from someone who went before us. Someone who sacrifice the sweat and the difficulty of making that climb. Stepping on those footprints made the climb bearable, easier, accomplishing the ascent. That ONE going before us in each of our lives is Jesus. He had made the way for us, stoked out the path. All we need to do is follow in His steps.
1Peter 2:21 states:
“For God called you to do good, even I’d it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and YOU MUST FOLLOW IN HIS STEPS”
Yes this walk is going to be challenging and hard, but you can do it! Be more the a conqueror. Be more than what this world tries to tell you who you are. Follow in the steps of Jesus, and you WILL make it up that hill!
