Which cup will you drink from?

God is so incredible in everything that He does. Though sometimes we don’t understand what He is orchestrating, we can rest in the fact that “Father knows best..” in this case, that God has the upmost love for His children that whatever He gives us, we can handle it through the strength He provides!
In Matthew 26:39 Jesus prays:
“Father! If it is possible, let this cup of suffering be taken away from me. Yet I want Your will to be done, not mine.”
We are familiar with this prayer in the Garden of Gathsemane, where Jesus cries out to God, submitting Himself to the cup that He must take in order to be the final sacrifice to cover the sins of humanity.
In Matthew 27:34, Jesus refusing the cup offered from man:
“The soldiers gave Him wine mixed with bitter gall, but when He had tased it, He refused to drink it.”
Bitter gall would have acted almost as a narcatic, which would have lessened the crushing blow of crucifixion. But Jesus did not accept that cup humanity tried to offer - He would only partake in that which His Father gave Him, and follow God’s will entirely.
What an example to us! So often we are presented with things from this world that can seem good, yet they take away from the will of God in our lives - which is why we must continually strive to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, and consistantly pray as Jesus did, “not my will, but Your’s be done.” Jesus specifically directs us how to pray in Matthew 6, stating “Thy will be done, on earth, as it is in Heaven.”
Let’s give all that we have to follow the will of God, no matter what the cost. It will require everything to follow Him - are you willing to drink of that cup?-
