Genesis 2:7 states:
 
“Then the LORD God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.”
 
God Himself, breathed life into man, bringing us into a living awareness of who God is.  I find it fascinating that God breathed into us - He is indeed the source from which all life comes from - He is THE living God.  Each time we wake up, realize that we are alive, may that be a reminder that God gave us that life - it comes from Him.  The Word declares let everything that has breath praise the Lord - Praise the Lord for life!
 
When sin entered the picture, it’s almost as if this life was sucked out of us - yes we were still living, but there was a void that entered into this life. But God (how often is that said! He always comes through ;)) had His perfect plan to bring life back into the people He loved so much, and continues to burn with passion for today.  He sent Jesus Christ, His Son, to be the perfect sacrifice to bring life back into us - John 10:10 states:
 
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.”
 
The abundant life - living in the fullness of what God has for each and every one of else - full of the joy found only in salvation.  Let this remind us that God is the giver of life - and through Jesus we have a river of life flowing from us, all as a result of the passionate love of Jesus Christ - that is something to be joyful about!
